What does “managed IT support” actually cover?
Everything routine: your staff can call or email whenever something is not working, and in the background we keep machines updated, patched, protected and backed up. Bigger pieces of work are quoted separately so you are never surprised by an invoice.
We’re only a handful of people. Are we too small?
No. Small teams often get the worst of it, because there is nobody whose job it is to notice the backup stopped running in March. Support is priced per person, so a small business pays a small amount.
What does it cost?
A fixed fee per person per month, depending on how many machines you have and how much cover you want. Current rates: pricing — TBC. The initial review is free and you get the written plan whether or not you go ahead.
Do we have to move everything to the cloud?
No. Some things genuinely belong on a server in your building — large design files, machinery talking to a local database, sites with poor internet. We tell you which systems benefit from moving and which do not.
What if something breaks at 7pm, or on a Saturday?
Standard support hours are hours — TBC and out-of-hours cover is OOH — TBC. For anything that stops you trading, the escalation route is agreed when you come on board, so nobody is guessing at 7pm.
Can you work alongside the IT person we already have?
Yes, and it is a common arrangement. We take the routine load, the monitoring and the out-of-hours worry; your internal person gets to work on things specific to your business instead of resetting passwords.
What is the switch actually like?
We take over without a break in cover: document what you have, take custody of accounts and licenses, put our monitoring and backup in place, then tell you when it is safe to give notice. Typical changeover: onboarding — TBC.
